Bio:
I was raised on a small farm in rural Maine, where I was home schooled by my mother. Being educated at home allowed me many opportunities that I would not otherwise have had, and these opportunities have helped foster many passions, including farming, cooking, and art. I pull from many different interests to create art, and am most satisfied when I am able to combine my love of creating with my love of building community.
I am a student in the Social Work program at the University of Southern Maine, and am currently taking a hiatus from school, During this hiatus, I am spending my time working, creating art, and learning about myself and others, both in my community and globally. As part of this learning, I hope to volunteer in several different regions in 2016, giving me the chance to experience a diverse range of cultures, while allowing me to make a difference in the lives of individuals in need.
Volunteering Experience:
2001 through 2011 - Volunteer at Maine Fiddle Camp, a two week immersion music program
2009 through 2014 - Volunteer at the Common Ground Country Fair
2011 - Volunteer with the WWOOF IE program (World Wide Organization of Organic Farms in Ireland)
2014 - Volunteer apprentice at Apple Acres Farm
Education:
Junior - University of Southern Maine, Certified Nursing Assistant
Occupation:
Cook/Student
Other Skills:
Experienced cook with knowledge of farming, food preservation, and sanitation
Certified Nursing Assistant
