Perú Social is the perfect trip for anyone who wants to get a deep understanding of a country/city, who wants to volunteer and get to know locals, who wants to have the many logistics like trekking to Machu Pichu covered, but who also is curious enough to explore beaches, ruins and restaurants on their own with their many hours of free time. My friend and I both met each other in Peru, and we both fell in love with the beautiful volunteer home and the ocean views of Lima. Hosts A.M. and Ricardo are not only kind and excellent chefs, but they are the best resources a tourist could ask for to have on hand. They know all the coolest bars, restaurants, beaches, museums and tours to take and let you know the best (and cheapest) ways to do everything. They also are very fun, caring, friendly people who are there for you for whatever you need. The volunteer home is conveniently located by a grocery store/supermarket to so you can pop in there for any little items you may have forgotten to pack. Overall, we were so grateful for the opportunity to build community gardens in the shanty towns of Peru and also for the opportunity to see one of the seven wonders of the world and so much more. We wished we had more time to share with them and more time in the wonderful country of Peru. This is the perfect trip for the laid back traveler who enjoys having a stress-free experience since travel/lodging logistics are planned for you while also enjoying having afternoons and evenings free to wander and explore as you please. Loved every single day we spent!
