I first got to know Sinakekele Children in 2004, when I was a volunteer there for a few months. At that time, I was taking care of 3-4 babies and toddlers with other volunteers. Although the work was intense (usually 12 hour shifts), I really enjoyed working for Sinakekele Children. We all became very close, and I ended up going back on a regular basis to Sinakekele Children, as soon as I could take a few months off from my studies. The other volunteers did the same. Today I am still in contact with Sinakekele Children and have also become one of the directors on the board of the organisation. I support when I can with fundraising and other activities. I would definitely recommend Sinakekele Children as a place to volunteer. You will not only be able to contribute to a great cause (taking care of children in need), you will also reside in a beautiful area of South Africa, and get to know a very special family. And you will realise, that you will have received a lot more than you will be able to give.
