Organization Description
SHARE - is a grassroots non profit organization based in Pallisa, Uganda. The emphasis is on giving support to the affected households in the target community by improving their quality of life through providing their orphan, and vulnerable children with; Education, Nutrition, Residence, and Medication.

Request for volunteers’- 2018. - HAMMRSLAG SCHOOL- UGANDA.
Is located about 5 kilometers from its closest town, Pallisa and about 220 Km from the Capital Kampala. The School had 250 students’ in 2017, boys and girls who mainly come from the surrounding villages and slums in Pallisa Town. Currently 26 students are boarding t school and we hope this number to increase this term 2018.

The school has friends- Hammerslag Family in America, with their friends has helped build the existing structures we have and we are proud of today. We began learning in grass shelters as our classrooms in 2012 and received valuable friendship and help from the Hammerslag Family in 2013- our very first Donation with the support their friends and with this the school got its named after them- HAMMERSLSG SCHOOL, in recognition of the huge help in building quality classrooms for rural children in Africa, Uganda and Pallisa in Particular. God Bless them and America.

The school is asking for Willing Volunteers from any country to help:-

1. Identify more strength, ways to improve the school learning environment,

2. Share teaching and learning experiences with the children/ students’ and their teachers which will allow improve students’ grades/ educational levels of these rural children by offering more opportunities. E.g., if these orphan and vulnerable children / poorer households they come from never receive quality education, then they cannot bring economic prosperity to their areas- villages or communities.

3. Support school feeding program and provision of clean water point; build a school library for rural children.

Presently the school receives most of its support/ donations from the Hammer slag and their friends given through Global Giving Plat form, and very little from paying parents about 10 dollars a year, this is problematic now because most of these parents are peasant or majority of the students are either orphan or vulnerable. Moreover it seems unlikely that these parents will be able to support the support budget in the coming years.

To secure more or continued support/ funding/ donations each time, the project leader must continue asking Hammerslag family for financial help to support educational needs of these rural children in Pallisa Uganda. This problem is further compounded by the fact that the school serves some of the poorest villages in the district with few educational opportunities- especially Girl child.

However by attracting foreign donors, we have managed to build quality and permanent classroom structures with a secure fence and main gate.
Interested persons / volunteers will be provided with free accommodation, 2 meals a day and local transport.
