Organization Description
The Kenya Association for Maternal & Neonatal Health- KAMANEH is a local founded and not for profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered under the NGOs Coordination Act of 1990. KAMANEH’s mandate is to identify, address, and prevent complications that arise during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, and thus ultimately decreasing maternal, infant and child mortality rates in Kenya. KAMANEH is a member of WGNRR as well as one of the founder member of WAK, a member of Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (PMNCH) hosted by WHO, Geneva and a Member of Reproductive Health Coalition (RHS), Belgium, and a Member of STH Worms Coalition among others.

KAMANEH’s Vision: “A community where women, children and adolescents realize their social and reproductive health rights and protection”.

KAMANEH’s Mission: “To save and improve the health and well-being of women, children and adolescents in urban slums, and rural remote communities in Kenya.

Long-term objectives:
o KAMANEH is committed to contribute to the reduction of maternal, perinatal and neonatal morbidity and mortality in rates Kenya. This will be achieved by “increasing equitable access to maternal and newborn services; improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery at the community level, include promotion of Sexual and Reproductive health and rights for women and girls.”
o KAMANEH will be committed to be the lead organization supporting County MNCH Programs.
o KAMANAEH will advocate for increased budget MNCH activities at the county level and advocate on MNCH issues to the local / community leaders.
o KAMANEH will be dedicated to partner women and youth groups, & Mother support groups;
o KAMANEH will be committed to set up a Micro-lending Scheme to assist poor women and teenage Mothers in improving their economic status, thus meeting their family health.
