Zero Malaria-Cholera

As deadly as it is, it still kills people daily and children are ones who are most vulnerable to this disease. As part of TCF target of empowering children to become voices of change in their communities or Icons when it comes to sanitation and promoting health, we are aiming at helping these children to eradicate malaria by training them with the necessary skills for them become innovative leaders of their generation whiles putting concrete measure in preventing malaria. Each child will be equipped through the process of main occupation of the community to fight malaria.

Rural Health Campaign

True Companion Foundation is set to sensitise children in various communities for them to influence the bigger society. The rural areas are the places which are most deserted when it comes to social infrastructure and providing medical care but they always seem to be the areas which are prone to diseases. Some of these diseases are as a result of poor sanitation conditions of which they might not even know of. This Rural Health Campaign seem to target these vulnerable people in the rural areas, educate them on their keeping their environment clean for better health.

Fish for Hygiene Project

Fishing, the backbone of Ghana’s economic development is the main occupation of people on the coastal belt of the country especially in the Cape Coast Metro-Mfantseman West District. The area is disease prone due to poor sanitation and hygiene practices. Moree, for instance, constantly battle with houseflies while other communities in the central region have battled with perennial cholera-diarrhoeal cases. Poor drainage systems, poor environmental sanitation and open defecation are high and hygiene behaviour, a blotch. Lack of full parental care has increased teenage pregnancies and thus increased risk of HIV/AIDS among the youth engage in unprotected sex.

Fish for Hygiene Project (FHP) aims at strengthening Malaria and HIV/AIDS prevention using three fishing procedures namely; Pre-Fishing, Fishing and Post Fishing stages in addressing health and sanitation challenges.
