Description
VolunteerMatch Ghana is a professional Non-Governmental Organization committed to the development of impoverished areas within our operational area (Accra, Ghana) without political or religious affiliations. VMG has been committed to providing high quality, highly affordable internship and volunteer programs over the past eight years. We accomplish this through an equal commitment to recruiting and retaining the best human resources personnel by ensuring their welfare and motivation, and offering exciting and fulfilling experiences that result in efficient and effective volunteer work.

VMG is committed to ensuring the safety, flexibility, professionalism, transparency and excellence of our intern and volunteer abroad programs. We regularly travel to our project sites, meet with our volunteers, and revise our programs based on the developing needs of the local communities. Our team of coordinators; consistently praised and recognized by our volunteers for their friendliness, hard work, and professionalism; consists of young people who want to pass on their experiences and passion for travel and volunteerism.

Our mission is to offer a broad range of opportunities for volunteering or interning in Ghana, particularly through our customized internships. Apart from providing applicants with an opportunity to gain international work experience, our customized opportunities offer the chance to grow closer to a different country and its people. Our service provides the opportunity to experience a different lifestyle, to spend time with people of other cultures, and to learn another language all while gaining invaluable employment experience in a specific professional field.

VOLUNTEER OR INTERN WITH US!

As a VMG volunteer, you are making a meaningful contribution, working side-by-side with local people and sharing in the goals of the community that warmly welcomes you. VMG takes care of all the logistics so you can focus on your volunteer experience. Our staffs are highly qualified professionals with years of experience in supporting volunteers and facilitating cross-cultural exchange. We offer wonderful opportunities for people to not just visit Ghana, but to exchange knowledge and skills with members of our communities.

All volunteers receive the same unrivaled support from our staff before you leave home and in your chosen destination. We will work with you to find a placement that suits your level of experience.

When you arrive at your destination, we will meet you from the airport and give you a comprehensive introduction of your local area, including settling you at your accommodation and showing you the local sights!

One you start work, we will meet with you and your project supervisor on a regular basis. Remember, VMG staff members are available for anything at anytime throughout your stay!

I volunteered with VMG for 4 weeks in July-August 2017. The experience was nothing short of amazing. I interned at the newspaper The Daily Statesman in Accra, where I wrote various stories – mainly about the political parties and the upcoming Presidential election, but also about social issues, social media and even about my own experience in Ghana. I was warmly welcomed by both my coworkers at the paper and by the VMG team, whom I stayed with. Everyone were so kind and helpful, and made me feel very much at home – even though I was miles away from Norway. The team arranged everything; food, accomodation, travel, phone simcard and even laundry. The hospitality they showed me was simply outstanding. Outside of work, I got to visit Cape Coast, Kakum National Park, a local bar, the Art...
