Bio: 
Since 2012, I have been working as a consultant in the development sector. I have a Master of Arts degree in Disaster Management (Conflict and Public Health) with a course in Governance for extra credit. Before my graduation from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai, I specialised in English literature at the B.A. level. I am certified in India as a Master Trainer for School Safety by the National Institute of Disaster Management, New Delhi and was formerly employed with the Government of Haryana in northern India. I have worked extensively at the grassroots level in Mumbai, Pune, Bihar and Jammu & Kashmir. I have also been a guest lecturer at Acharya College in Chembur, working with youth from low-income families on building their resumes for employment after college. I have been published online on some Indian citizen-journalism websites such as Chowk and Youth Ki Awaaz, and two of my poems on conflict are taught at the middle-school level, internationally. I have also received a National Award for creative writing from the President of India. Delving into photo-poetry and theatre in my spare time, I currently work with a financial services firm, advising clients on philanthropy.
Volunteering Experience: 
3 weeks in Nepal after the earthquake in 2015 (setting up and overseeing a medical relief camp in over 9 villages across 2 districts in Nepal). 6 months as a school teacher in low-income communities in Mumbai and Pune, 2 cities in India.
