Bio:
Hi there, I am recent graduate of Politics/ International development looking to volunteer in Latin America. I studied gender and development at university, and am working for the DFID-funded programme the Girls' Education Challenge as a junior researcher/ administrator. I am currently learning Spanish and looking to improve and involve myself in a community project overseas, focused on gender and development issues (ideally). I'm easy going, and enjoy seeing where things take me, and I am increasingly dissatisfied with working and living in the UK. I am looking for hands-on experience rather than learning about 'international development' and gender related issues from a computer screen.
Volunteering Experience:
I have a lot of experience in advocacy and communication. I volunteer for Citizens Advice Direct, UK. I have also worked with children with Autism Spectrum disorder when I did a fundraising internship with a local charity. I am looking forwards to getting involved in a community-orientated venture hopefully involved in gender-related issues experienced by women.
Education:
University of Glasgow, 1st class degree
Occupation:
Portfolio Manager, Girls' Education Challenge,
Other Skills:
I have a lot of previous editorial/ proof-reading/ report writing experience
Fundraising
Gardening
Music- I play saxophone
