Bio:
My name is Silvia Patricia La-Rotta, Currently I am in my 50's and I have decided to change my path in life. I am single and have no children, which makes me feel like a perfect candidate for jobs like volunteer work. Throughout my years I have dedicated my life to my mothers health as well as my fathers. I have worked in various different areas which include Graphic Design (my professional career and title), painting and drawing, event planning and decorating, as well as education. When I was young I dedicated myself to Graphic Design, I worked at the Military University in Bogota. Later on I created my own event planning company where I planned weddings, first communions, birthdays parties and other events at the Social Golf Clubs such as "Serrezuela", and "Guaymaral Country Club", and many others. Once I felt that the company was not fulfilling me any more after many years, I decided to open a company at home, where I had workshops for children in which I taught them how to decorate cookies for mothers day, christmas, halloween and many other events of the year. During this job I learned ho much I loved working with kids and how well we got along. I also took some professional painting classes in which i learned to make flowers with the paint-stroke technique and kept making different crafts for events and orders that my previous clients would make. During those years in which I kept all my different businesses I traveled to Australia to learn English and to travel. When I was there I learned to communicate with people from different cultures and expanded my knowledge on what it means to be part of a community. Traveling for me was a pleasure and an experience I would love to repeat. I love nature, different cultures and learning about the world and all of its different beauties. Here in Colombia I love to travel to places where I see how people with low economic income live so happily and peaceful. In one of these trips I learned that I want to travel more to these type of communities and I would like to live in a place where having little means having more. I am currently looking for a change in my life, I want to give back to the world for everything the world has given me. I see sufferment and crisis in other countries as well as my own in which I want to help, to change, to be part of something bigger than what I see in the city. I want to become a role model, a person to which children can look up to and love. I feel that in the city I no longer have a place to fill, and that someone like myself, who can have the opportunity to help, should take it in their hands and graps it. I want to be part of the change for the future. I am honest, dedicated, loving, open, shy at times but I would love to make a part of something bigger than myself.
