Bio:
I’ve always been interested in the environment from a very young age, especially in regards of water quality and animal conservation, this is the reason I decided to get a masters degree in Environmental Geology specializing in water and soil uses and pollution after finishing school for Civil Engineering. My parents have always encouraged me to expand my knowledge about the world and its people by traveling as often as we could and participate in different activities like playing the piano and the violin. Also I’ve been lucky enough to grow up in a country like Venezuela were being in contact with nature and participating in outdoor activities is the norm for most people my age; amongst the things I like to do are hiking, camping, climbing, kiteboarding, scuba diving and horse jumping.
Volunteering Experience:
I haven’t had much volunteering experience aside from participating in a group in my University were we would go to impoverished communities around Caracas and asses their infrastructure to try and find ways to improve it and then prepare a report for the local authorities with what needed to be done which could be anything from repairing stairs for people to get to their houses, building public basketball courts, improving their lightning system, etc. Right now I’m looking for a volunteering program that would give me the opportunity to participate in conservational projects that would allow me to expand my knowledge and experience is this field for my future professional work especially in dealing with living creatures since everything I’ve learned so far has been about water and soil while also being able to meet different people and cultures.
