Bio:
Hello my name is Richard and I am 25 and originally from Florida. I have lived in 5 different states in the past 4 years form traveling around including, Florida, California, Alaska, Oregon, and Colorado. I have been working in restaurants for the past 8 years with random side jobs and breaks in between including inventory, construction, working on cars, rebuilding a dock, and other small jobs for friends. I am kinda a DYI (do it yourself) kind of person and at most of my jobs my employer asks me to do random jobs around the property. I am currently a Class three raft guide in Colorado USA with a WAFA (wilderness advance first aid) certification. I am advanced PADI scuba diver and also have a motorcycle endorsement. I have been to 35 states and have backpacked Japan and Thailand for 3 months total. I enjoy moving and seeing new things and learning different ways of life and seeing it first hand as opposed to reading or watching it on tv.
Volunteering Experience:
I haven't done as much volunteer work as I would like to but for a week in Japan i WWOOF, there I was helping make miso and I got to go dig a ditch around a rice field for a day. I have volunteered as a kid for various things, and now I try to pick up liter as I am hiking. I am currently wanting to volunteer on my backpacking trip to Colombia and Ecuador. I would enjoy more volunteering and learning something new but if I can help someone with the skills I have I would also enjoy that. I think that volunteering is a great way to see normal life in a different culture, its also a great way to help others who need it either physically or financially or mentally.
