Bio: 
My name is Rachel, I am 22 years old. I am currently studying a Social Work and Applied Social Studies degree at the University of Bath. I enjoy learning about other cultures and engaging with the community.
Volunteering Experience: 
I was a community based volunteer for Victim Support for just over one year. Within this role, I supported people who experienced a variety of crimes, such as, harassment, actual bodily harm grievous bodily harm, burglary, and domestic violence. This experience has allowed me to enhance my interpersonal, and communication skills in order to support a variety of people. I volunteered for a homeless shelter over the Christmas period. This experience helped me gain a deeper understanding into the socioeconomic issue that people face. Within my first year of university, I undertook a research project working with unaccompanied asylum seekers. My placement was with a fostering and adoption agency, and require me to conduct research to find out what barriers were preventing people from fostering or adopting unaccompanied minors.
