Bio:
My name is nina sukainah. People usually call me nina. I'm indonesian and i'm 22 years old. I am currently pursuing a degree in Accountancy in the University of Malaya, Malaysia. I have actually been staying in Malaysia for the past 8 years. I moved to Malaysia when i was in my junior high school. And i continued my High school in an international school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As for my personal interest, i like to read, write, swim and travel during my free time.Personality wise, I honestly would say that i am a rather flexible person. And i am able to adapt easily to new environments which most likely due to my passion for travelling. Therefore, staying out of my home country was never a problem for me because i am naturally love to explore new things, visiting new places and of course my favorite part is meeting completely new people during my journey. I would also like to add that i am very friendly and very patience as well. so I thought these personal traits that i have could be channeled to something beneficial and useful. Hence, volunteering is one of the best option offered. I have always wanted to join a volunteer programs but i had no clue where and how to join them. The reason why i want to volunteer is because is the best platform for me to travel and be helpful at the same time. And i am sure, my travel experience would be way more rewarding and memorable,if i could do it through volunteer program.
Volunteering Experience:
I have never joined any abroad volunteer program, but i had joined a couple in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur (where i am currently based right now). The program that i recently joined was teaching English to Indonesian children between the age of 6-15 years old who are yet to have their permit to stay in Malaysia because their parents occupation( maid, contractor and such). The concept of the program is to provide education to Indonesian who are based in Malaysia whose parents have no financial capability to enroll them to a proper school. The main purpose of the program is to facilitate these children with the necessary materials for them to seek knowledge. The materials being given to them are books and stationary which are rather important for their educational purpose. These books are supplied from the volunteers themselves and any outsiders who would like to donate their used and unused books for these children. This volunteering experience has taught me a lot. It made me realized how lucky of a person i am to be blessed with the opportunity to get a proper education. It also made me grateful and it also motivates me to be a better human being knowing that there are people out there who are actually outstanding however, they just do not have the opportunity to polish the inner diamonds through proper education. This experience also made me realized that i have a passion for teaching. It gave me such joy and satisfaction when i see my students communicate better in English. Even though nothing was granted to me in return from teaching these kids, but it made me happy just to see the smiles that i have drawn on their faces from teaching these kids. Hence, here i am writing my past experience, hoping that i could gain more in the near future and in another continent. I am currently seeking for a volunteer program to teach English in EU countries (eg: Spain, Romania) as i am comfortable and confident on this field due to my past experience. The reason why i want to do it in EU countries is firstly because i have always wanted to go there and it would be much more lovely to travel and teaching at the same time. I would like to conclude by saying though i am new to the field of volunteering, but i found such enjoyment doing it. And therefore, i am humbled if you could consider me to be a part of your volunteering family.
