Bio:
A political science university student, who does not act like one. I'm totally open minded, and may I say definitely not a terrorist (just kidding .. or not) :P I was also fortunate enough to be brought up in a family that understands the importance of giving back. I could safely say that I have been volunteering and doing charity work my whole life. Since my 4th birthday, every religious and national feast, I would get a new piece of clothes identical to my new one, and I would donate it to any street-child (I was a chubby kid, so finding someone whom would fit in the clothes wasn't really that difficult). Since then, I have been volunteering with Egyptian NGOs, trying to actually give back, because lets face it, donating money is never enough. Travelling has always been one of my priorities (when I am actually smart and strong enough to save money, instead of spending it on food). It would be an underestimation to say that I "enjoy" discovering new things; restaurants, touristic places, roads, activities, art, traditions, customs, music, cuisines and recipes, of course cultures and people.
Volunteering Experience:
I have more than 8 years experience in volunteering. I have been volunteering through Egyptian charity popular and unpopular NGOs since grade 6 up until 2015. The experience could be divided into physical assistance and abstract assistance. The physical assistance include painting and maintaining old schools, mosques, churches and charity buildings. It also includes building pips along with professionals to insure water supply for rural villages in Egypt. Moreover, distributing summer and winter clothes to street children before national feasts and before the beginning of winter, this includes collecting clothes from volunteers and doing the laundry and the ironing as well. Last but not least, personally collecting fundraising for those who could not afford different causes, including education for poor children, medical assistance for severe cases, energy supply to rural Egyptian villages, assisting employment for the disabled and more. The abstract assistance is mainly either teaching assistance or contacting volunteers updating them about new cases they might be interested in. I have been fortunate enough to receive international education, so I have personally taught English language for 5 years, 6 hours a week (every Friday) to children as young as 5 and to illiterate elders as old as 40 years old. The teaching volunteering was conducted with an Orphanage called "Al-Amal", which literally translates to The Hope.
