Bio:
I am an undergraduate student at he university of Sussex studying international development. In my first year I achieved a high 2i grade and this year I am working at the level of a 1st. The choice of my degree came from a life long interest in global issues and passion to make a difference in developing countries. I hope to volunteer with influential international organisations in order to gain experience in the field of development as well as to fulfill my enthusiasm of contributing to human welfare projects in the pursuit of poverty alleviation and improved well-being. I am a very active individual, as I play for the Ultimate Frisbee teams at Sussex and also for the local Brighton team. In August 2015 I competed for the Great Britain under 20s Ultimate team in the Europea Youth Championships. Not only is this one of my passions, I am also a very dedicated member of these teams.
Volunteering Experience:
I am currently seeking volunteering experience in the field of international development, and I not particularly focused on a specific area although issues in health, education and women do interest me. I would like to be a hands on volunteer who can get involved and take initiative with an organisation pursuing positive development objectives.
Education:
Sir John Lawes: 11 GCSEs and A Levels – A*, A, A. University of Sussex: International BA (2nd year)
Occupation:
Student
Other Skills:
I have been part of a leadership team for Scout & Explorer Scout groups so I have leadership skills
I am currently undertaking a level 1 coaching course
