Bio:
I am a second year English Literature and Language student at the University of Liverpool. I am a creative individual with a passion for the subject of English. I am looking to develop the academic and life skills that would support my ambition to teach. I am personable individual with good communication skills, something enhanced by my work and voluntary experience. I am open minded and interested in the cultures of other people. I enjoy music and literature, as well as connecting with new people.
Volunteering Experience:
I have been a senior member of the Liverpool 26th Boys Brigade Company for a number of years. In this role I have supervised and encouraged younger members in various activities. These have included sports supervision and team events. I have helped younger members to develop discipline and strength of character in excursions such as rock climbing. I have also volunteered at the Young Persons Opportunities Project in Liverpool. This was an administrative role within an organisation that seeks to bring alternative learning and employment opportunities to young people that may not otherwise receive them. It is here I learned to appreciate the value of education in developing young lives. My placement here enabled me to provide support to others through an appreciation of their needs and goals. I am currently seeking a challenging teaching experience that will have a positive and enduring effect on my own and other peoples’ lives.
Education:
English BA (Hons), Two A*'s including English Literature, a B and a 'C' grade at A Level
Occupation:
Kiosk Staff
Other Skills:
Experience of dealing with the general public
Patient, especially when dealing with challenging individuals and situations
