Bio:
I am currently a nanny in France and have greatly enjoyed my time with the family. However, my time with them is coming to an end and I am now looking to expand my international experience and combine my professional interests by spending a year in Vietnam. Although I do not have previous experience in Vietnam, I enjoy experiencing new cultures and am very adaptable. In May 2015 I completed my bachelor’s degree in economics, international development and French at Tulane University where I took numerous classes on sustainable development, project management. My French studies lead me to study abroad for in France and return after university to work and continue to increase my level of French. I am now fluent. Professionally, I have had the privilege of working with three widely different nonprofits around the US. All three of the organizations I have worked for have had two to three employees which, afforded me the opportunity to work on projects and assume responsibilities normally given to employees with more experience. These projects included: managing a team of ten volunteer over the course of a three-day conference, writing program proposals in collaboration with international NGOs and developing educational curriculum. These experiences allowed me to cultivate skills such as project management, effective cross cultural communication and program design. Personally, I enjoy meeting new people and working in fast paced environments. I like to laugh and explore new places. I play the ukulele and love watching movies.
Volunteering Experience:
I have had three unpaid internships at three widely different nonprofits around the US. This means that my professional experience has all been volunteer work. All three of the organizations I have worked for have had two to three employees which, afforded me the opportunity to work on projects and assume responsibilities normally given to employees with more experience. Though it has been a few years, I also regularly volunteered, in high school, at an after school program for elementary school kids (6-11 years old), and a retirement home.
