Bio:
I am a lively and energetic 18 year old, looking to volunteer abroad during my gap year, before returning to the UK to study law at university. I am reliable, well organised and have experience working with and for people of all ages, so bring communication skills, along with a positive and friendly attitude to the job.
Volunteering Experience:
Most of my experience involves working with children. Currently, I work as a party entertainer for children aged 4 – 11, at weekends and holidays. I usually work alone and entertain the children with science themed activities, for any length of time between 45 minutes and 2 hours at parties. Furthermore, I handle the payment for parties and contact the parents prior to events to plan travel arrangements and gain an idea of what exactly they want for their child's birthday party. Last summer I worked on a summer horse riding camp, where I was responsible for looking after children between the ages of 5 and 16 during the day while they were horse riding and in the evening during supper and activities. I also organised the evening entertainment and acted as a help and friendly face to all of the campers. This summer, I will be working for a charity, as a residential mentor for teenagers aged 15-17, where I will be responsible for their summer camp experience. I will be helping them cook and will arrange all of their travel and activities while on the camp. This will give me great experience for working abroad and helping people develop their english skills.
