Bio:
I am 18 years old currently studying a 3 year BSc Psychology degree at the University of Bath, United Kingdom. I have lived in Hong Kong for 18 years and gained a huge exposure to a multitude of cultures (as my father is British and my mother is Indonesian). Thus, I am extremely sensitive and aware of my surrounding environment and I can adapt to different cultures easily. I am a highly enthusiastic and dedicated person with excellent exposure to volunteering. I am able to use my own initiative to work with teams under pressure to accomplish challenging objectives. I have first-class communication, organisational and creativity skills with the will and determination to succeed. I am a firm believer in trying to do small acts of kindness, not only to people but also to the earth. As cliche as this sounds, I truly believe that if I can not do my part to help this earth in any way, what kind of world will my future children and grandchildren live in? It is crucial to do our part for the universe. As one of my favourite poets (Rupi Kaur) wrote; "i thank the universe for taking everything it has taken and giving to me everything it is giving - balance". This really strikes me because it is our duty, as people that live on this earth, to give back whatever the universe has given us. Another quote written by the same poet goes: "give to those who have nothing to give to you - seva (selfless service)". Selfless service or Seva in Sanskrit (Punjabi: ਸੇਵਾ) is a service which is performed without any expectation of result or award for performing it. This poem will forever reside in my thoughts because I always try to do this everyday. From helping someone with a problem, to volunteering for big projects, this poem has always been a reoccurring motto.
