Bio:
I am a young professional looking to make worthwhile use of my free time. Volunteering is one such way and it allows me to meet new people and create amazing memories. I aspire to make a difference in every community I visit.
Volunteering Experience:
My most notable experience was in Guyana (November 2014) volunteering with Rupununi Learners Incorporated. In the small village of Yupukari I worked alongside village members to accomplish a variety of large and small projects. Many of these involved making use of my engineering background to draft layouts for buildings that would aid in government funding proposals, as well as create a green roof using local village materials. Other projects allowed me to experience the wildlife surrounding the Amazon. As part of the Caiman House project I worked with a local team to capture, tag, and release black caiman. Countless other projects allowed me to share experiences with locals both young and old, and I am forever grateful for their kindness and hospitality.
