Bio:
I am Karl Cervania, a college freshman desiring to volunteer for various reasons. One of which is so that I may be able to enhance my communication skills apart from honing it in my usual and initial environment here at the Philippines. Secondly, I want to diversify my understanding of the world, the ASEAN in specific, for the reason that I value cultural empowerment and it can be attained by activating myself in diverse field situations. Moreover, this mission I vision will entrust my career path into a desirable one, which does not alienate but compose the people of ASEAN further. I believe it can all be achieved by interacting through this volunteer program. I currently attend my freshman year with two trimesters already finished to De La Salle University, a premier Philippine university which dedicates itself to achieving beneficial goals. Interestedly, I desire into being a medical practitioner sooner. While being a 16 year old, I have taken minor language courses back in high school, those of which are Latin, and a major in English. I am humbly confident to cite that I am fluent with the English language. It is my great desire to work for this volunteering program, for I see this opportunity as not only a bridge into further connecting my cultural appreciation, but also as an empowering training to help other people in whatever way I can.
Volunteering Experience:
Since high school, I have had two volunteer experiences. Firstly, it was conducted consecutively every month. During that fixed day, my classmates and I were going to an orphanage - Bethany House of Sto. Niño, to where we take a part of our time to engage with the orphans through teaching them basic prerequisites for pre-elementary courses. I managed to find my first volunteering experience interesting for I was delivered into deciding that I will continue volunteering in other ways, for though it was helpfully fun, it stopped because I have graduated high school already. Secondly, I had volunteered shortly just for two months for a church organisation in our parish. It was the RYC or Rosarian Youth Club, whereby I spent two months attending to my position there as the Youth Treasurer. I have practically honed my skill into a useful one, partly because financing is an essential part for every thing.
