Bio:
I am passionate and adventurous world citizen with a BSc. in Environmental Science and a MSc. in Human Ecology. I am interested in environmental issues, social and environmental justice, and animal rights, among many other things. I believe in grassroot activism and sustainable change from the bottom-up. I would like to work with projects that empowers local communities and create sustainable and just change - 'cause we need to change!
Volunteering Experience:
Internship with Foundation for Sustainable Development (FSD) in Masaka, Uganda (September 2015-January 2016). Internship through FSD at the local organisation Get Smart Luteete. I led three different projects with the overall aim to increase the soil fertility of the farmers' land in order to increase their yields by using sustainable farming practices. This involved planting of indigenous agroforestry trees; vegetable growing with plant-based fertilisers and pesticides; establishment of a pig enterprise etc. I organised workshops on soil conservation and management, plant-based fertilisers and pesticides, pig rearing, time and cost-effective irrigation, farm records and collective marketing, creation of vegetable nursery beds, and tree planting. I worked closely together with the farmers in the field in order to create sustainable community-driven development. Volunteer with Community Initiative for Integrated Rural Development (CIIRD) (September 2015-January 2016). I supported CIIRD in their community development work focusing on agriculture and environmental conservation. We started a environmental club at a local secondary school in order for the students to bring awareness of environmental conservation and sustainable development; we planted mango trees at a primary school in order to reduce soil erosion and to give the students access to nutrition via the fruits; we built wood saving stoves at some community member's houses to make their use of firewood more efficient; and we also held a tree planting campaign where we explained the benefits of planting agroforestry trees and fruit trees on the community members' farmlands. 2016-ongoing: Secretary, Afrikagrupperna (African Groups) Lund/Malmö, Sweden. 2014-ongoing: Member of Feministiskt initiativ Malmö (Feminist Party), Sweden 2013: Group leader, Djurens Rätt (Animal Rights Sweden), local group in Norrköping, Sweden. Active member since 2011. 2013: Volunteer/Active member, Greenpeace local group in Norrköping, Sweden. Volunteer/Active member since 2011. 2012-2013: Board member, Student Social Group, Environmental Science Division, Linköping University, Sweden 2012: Volunteer, Christmas event for marginalised people, Stockholms Stadsmission, Sweden 2011-2013: Secretary, Amnesty Student Group, Linköping University, Sweden.
