Bio:
I am a second year student at Leeds University studying Physics and the History of Science. Originally from Kent I moved to Leeds in 2014 to study. I am interested in volunteering for a variety of reasons. In the last few years of my life I have developed a sense of community with the world. I feel duty-bound to help those in need. Coming from a country such as England means I have a had a life of luxury compared to those brought up in lesser developed countries, and I am obligated to give back. My own interests in education mean that going abroad and teaching is an excellent way for me to help others as well as myself. Aside from this I am very interested in music. I can (questionably) play the guitar and love live music, recently I've been listening to lots of world music from places like the Middle East and West Africa which has got me interested in their culture and politics. My interest in politics also extends to the politics in the UK and i'm a big supporter of Jeremy Corbyn. I am a big sports fan, I love football and in 2013 I became a fully qualified referee for adults and children.
Volunteering Experience:
I used to volunteer at a local scout group where I would help manage and organise various activities for scouts aged 12-16. Ranging from rock climbing to educational outings, my role was to simply look after the scouts and ensure that they all had an enjoyable but safe experience. I am currently applying to volunteered at a homeless shelter in Leeds that houses around 20 people per night, offering shelter for one night to those without it. I am also a member of Greenpeace.
Education:
Currently an undergraduate student. Achieved 3 A levels from secondary school.
Occupation:
Student
Other Skills:
Football Referee
