Bio:
I am 21 years old and currently completing my 3rd year in BCom Marketing Management at the University of Pretoria. This year I am also working for an online company called Polka Dot Digital, gaining valuable experience in digital marketing and customer relations. I am a very enthusiastic person and, when given a task I put all my energy into it to achieve the best results. I am a well-rounded person and here is a quick summary of my many activities. I have been working since I was 15 years doing odd jobs such as waitressing, working at Wakaberry and plenty of Promotions so I like to think of myself as a very organised and mature lady. I attended high school at St Teresa’s School in Rosebank, where in Matric (2013) I was Vice Swimming Captain and I completed the Midmar Mile that year. I was also Vice House Captain. I thoroughly enjoyed both of these positions as they both involved team work which is one of my strong points. Throughout school and still now, I take Irish Dancing lessons at the Duncan Studio of Celtic dance where we compete in various competitions against other studios and take part in exhibitions such as the One Young World 2014 Closing Ceremony, the yearly Bryanston Country Club Golf Day and dance at various pubs and other private venues for St Patricks Day celebrations. I love my dancing and enjoy going to class because it takes my mind off other mundane activities and the classes are usually exhausting! I have always loved animals, and we have 4 at home! Last year I started volunteering at Free Me Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre once a week, where I am involved in preparing food for the rescued animals and making sure their enclosures are clean and tidy. At Free Me I am also able to interact with people who share the same passion for domestic animals and wildlife as I do. One of my dreams is to visit the Galapagos Islands one day. This year I have started helping out at Lory Park Zoo working with the animals making sure they are all attended to. At University last year, I started Psychology as an extra module because I am interested in how we function and human behaviour. With Psychology I was able to join the Psyche Society which involves projects for us to gain experience within our field of study. On a weekly basis, we spend a few hours at New Beginningz Haven in Pretoria which is an orphanage for young children ranging from +/- 6 months old – 5 or 6 years old. I enjoy my time spent here and find I am surprisingly good in close interaction with the children and it makes me so happy to hear them laugh or see them smile. I have many different experiences together with my passion for my dancing, wildlife and helping others. I am a good person with whom to do team work and I like to make sure the work is spilt equally and that everyone knows exactly what has to be done. I have a dream to make the world a better place, and hope that I can be a part of it.
