Bio:
We are a fun and easy-going family of three hoping for an adventure before our son Jasper starts school next year and Mickie starts a PHD in sustainability. We are looking to immerse ourselves in a local community and be part of a useful and engaging project. Some of our recent local community projects in Melbourne include building and maintaining a Little Free Library and a Community Garden. We don't practice any religion. We are passionate about the environment, enjoy helping and teaching others and are interested in learning about different cultures. We are both sustainability professionals, with degrees in Natural Resource Management and Masters in Public Health. Mickie works in sustainable transport and teaches sustainability for Monash University part time, and Jeff project manages a national energy efficiency program for businesses. For the past nine years we have also had an online shop selling environmentally friendly and quirky recycled products. Jasper is almost 5 years old and is learning Mandarin at child care a couple of days per week. Professional Skills : Mickie: project management, community engagement, training and facilitation, and sustainability program design and implementation. For over 15 years, Mickie has managed local government health and sustainability projects. Mickie co-founded a not-for-profit organisation, Just Change, and played a leadership role in all of its work to understand and improve the negotiation of energy efficiency improvements for low-income renters. Jeff: project management, commercial building sustainability ratings, energy auditing, and sustainability policy and planning.
