Bio:
I am South African born, grew up in Zambia and spent most of my adult life in Zimbabwe before immigrating to New Zealand with my family in 2000. I'm a qualified toolmaker by trade and have worked my whole life with my hands doing building and carpentry work. I am highly skilled and enjoy any work that is physical. I have always had my own businesses within the building & renovation field and project managed large groups of people. I am skilled at carpentry work, plumbing and know the basics of electrics and anything else involved in building homes. I have volunteered my time in mission outreach projects in Zimbabwe and Mocambique. I have recently retired and temporarily in South Africa with my wife who is involved in a business project there. I have a lot of time on my hands and thought that while I'm in Africa I could offer my skills by way of community building projects. My only limitation is that I am unable to drive due to an eye stigma. This however does not impede in any way my ability to work. I am available to work in Zambia and any of the countries surrounding South Africa.
Volunteering Experience:
I'm been involved in feeding schemes in rural Zimbabwe in the 1990's when the country was suffering with severe drought. I also volunteered with a group to travel to Mocambique where I was involved in building and repairs of a mission station. I am also an excellent cook and general handy man and there is nothing that I can't fix.
Education:
Cambridge Certificate. Qualified Trades Certificate as a Toolmaker
Occupation:
Handyman/renovator./carpenter
Other Skills:
Plumbing
carpentry
electrics
project management
