Bio:
Hello :) My name is Haley Manning and I am looking to get out there and start volunteering! I'm an easy going, happy person with a can do attitude and I'm not afraid to work hard and get my hands dirty. I've got some travel experience under my belt but have never ventured down to South America which I've always wanted to do. I'm a SCUBA diver and have basic Spanish skills. Working with any of these organizations would be an amazing opportunity to do some good and give a hand to those who need it. Preferably I would like to work in a wildlife rehabilitation center because I have some experience in that are, however I am not picky. I hope to get involved soon and start working!
Volunteering Experience:
Throughout my high school years I was a very active member in the community. I volunteered with our schools Interact Club and led our environmental group, installing a compost/waste management system and educating other students about the many environmental issues we face in our community. We encouraged positive change, focusing on what we can do rather than what we cannot. After high school I enrolled in The Animal Care Aide Certificate course which allows you an entry level position in a vet clinic and other career paths involving animals. I went on to intern at Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society, our local wildlife rehabilitation center. My job there included many aspects of wildlife care and rehab such as tube feeding, administering medication, restraining wildlife in a safe and respectful manner, transporting animals to vet clinics for surgery, cleaning and general daily care.
