Bio:
Hello, my name is Gus and I'm currently a student of International Development at the University of Amsterdam. I'm originally from the United States and Canada but have lived abroad for the past few years in the UK and the Netherlands.
Volunteering Experience:
I recently worked at Safisha Africa Welfare Foundation in Nairobi Kenya. Here I helped organize local partnerships for the Safisha Africa Orphanage and worked with the children to adapt to life in the orphanage. Prior to this, I volunteered with Oxfam International for 2 years in London and worked for the NGO Anza in Tanzania. With their guidance, I was able to start the social enterprise KiliPads to fight the stigma surrounding menstruation and to provide a low-cost and reliable alternative to women for expensive commercial pads and makeshift materials.
