Bio:
Volunteering has always been one of my dreams and I hope this year will be the year I can volunteer for a considerable length of time. I am committed to people and have a genuine willingness to help. It is empowering to see that we have the ability to make things change and improve people's lives. If I have to describe myself in a few words I would say I am a devoted person, enthusiastic, kind, generous and open to different cultures. I am currently studying a Master in Global Health which made me aware of the considerable amount of work that needs to be done in terms of health related issues such as HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Tuberculosis and other diseases. This made me want to volunteer and help even if for a short amount of time relieve health or educational burdens.
Volunteering Experience:
Al-Manar is a charity based in Rabat for children with disabilities. Our aim was to create in a day a short-film (to present during a film competition) about the charity, members of staff and its children to help promote their work and encourage donations. Toys, snacks and school supplies have been distributed during our visit in 2014. This volunteering opportunity aimed at distributing toys to Tunisian orphans based in Sousse as well as writing an article in the university newspaper to raise awareness and encourage donations in 2012.
Education:
master in global health
Occupation:
student
Other Skills:
drama
