Bio:
I am 18 years old and am taking a gap year after scoring 43 points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma. I received 9A*s and 1 A at iGCSE and came top 50 in the UK in both the Chemistry Olympiad and the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge. As such, I intend to study Chemistry at university, and am applying to both UK and US universities. I have always loved teaching and helping people, a passion that I followed by becoming part of a Community Service group, teaching children in primary schools in Birmingham. I also love travel, however, have not been able to do too much of it due to the high cost, which is why I would love to combine teaching and travel by volunteering abroad. I also have a love of music, and have achieved a Distinction in ABRSM Grade 8 cello. I also used to be Head Chorister at Worcester Cathedral and have sung solos in Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris, and Brussels National Cathedral. I also topped the County qualifying group in badminton and I have represented my school at athletics and cross country. As such, I would love to help out doing extracurricular activities with children on a volunteering mission. If further information is needed, I can provide a copy of my C.V.
Volunteering Experience:
I have volunteered at primary schools in Birmingham as part of a Community Service group, teaching children in various subjects and helping out with activities. I have found this an immensely worthwhile experience. I have received a TEFL qualification in addition. Unfortunately, due to high prices, so far I have not been able to volunteer abroad, but I would love to work with either children or adults, teaching them english and helping with extracurricular activities. I am very interested in South-East Asia and China. Due to my financial situation, I cannot afford to spend that much money on this, however, I am so keen to volunteer abroad!
Education:
International Baccalaureate Diploma: 43 points. iGCSEs: 9 A*s, 1 A.
Occupation:
I am a gap year student.
Other Skills:
I am very quick to pick up new languages as I have studied French, Spanish, Latin and Greek.
I am very hard-working and put in maximum effort to every endeavour.
I can play four instruments (violin, cello, piano, singing) and love helping others to improve.
I love working as part of a team, and believe I am a good team-player.
