Bio:
I am originally from Brazil, I have two children and I have lived in USA for the last 15 years. I worked as a System Analyst in Brazil for about 10 years and after being relocated to the United States my husband had to move constantly, so I decided to spend my time raising my kids and taking care of my family. Besides the U.S we also had the opportunity to live in Mexico for one year where we had a significant experience. Although I was mainly a full time mom, I kept attending school to improve my English until I finally decided to get a second major as an Interior Designer. Currently I am at Junior year at University of North Texas (UNT).
Volunteering Experience:
I am constantly volunteering for different causes, but due to my busy schedule I have not being able yet to commit myself several hours to one organization. However I either help financially, participating in luncheon or dinner events such as Avance (www.avance.org) and Cornerstone Ranch (A special needs community in McKinney,TX http://www.cornerstone-ranch.com/) or on my birthdays I ask for non perishable food to be donated to a homeless shelter here in Dallas or money for MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Organization) on behalf of a friend's son who is suffering from muscle disease. During the cold winter here in Dallas I usually help a friend from Souls Feeding Souls organization either buying or collecting winter clothes for the elderly and homeless people. I also help an association in Brazil every Christmas "adopting" at least two orphan kids buying new clothes, shoes, and toys to make their Christmas more special. For years I helped a Brazilian family financially to help with their house expenses and medicine. Last year I could help the organization Feeding Children Everywhere assembling healthy meals for hungry children. This year I am turning 50 and I decided to do something more meaningful to my celebrate my birthday: spending my school spring break for a special cause and make a difference.
Education:
Graduated in Information Technology seeking for a second major in Interior Design.
Occupation:
Student
Other Skills:
Communicative, and speak three languages. I am handcrafted, love teaching and cooking.
