Bio:
I am a student from California living in Boston Massachusetts with a bad case of the travel bug. I love working with children and am studying to become a speech language pathologist. I have worked with children as an overnight camp counselor for campers 8-15 years of age and as an intern for a speech language pathology clinic for children with autism spectrum disorder, stutters, and articulation disorders. I have travelled to 22 countries but want to go to so many more. I am very outgoing and good at interacting with and speaking in front of a group of people. If I had to describe myself in three words I would say that I am hard-working, energetic, and flexible. I am very interested in volunteering because the best way to explore is by giving back to the communities that are so kind for welcoming me from the other corner of the world.
Volunteering Experience:
I have coached for multiple seasons for children playing softball in my local community softball league before leaving for college and also feed the homeless during the holidays with my family. When traveling I have had a few opportunities to do day volunteer trips including visiting orphanages and donating play equipment and food for the children in the home in Ho Chi Minh Vietnam and donating to a himba tribe settlement in Namibia while learning about their culture and daily lives.
Education:
High school diploma and three years completed of university working towards a bachelor's in science
Occupation:
Student
Other Skills:
American Red Cross CPR/AED certified
USA Drivers License
