Bio:
I am a twenty-year-old female who is looking to volunteer abroad. I want to gain experience both in dealing with different people and cultures and in traveling to different places. I have an Associates Degree from Grays Harbor Community College and some more college credits from Western Washington University. I was going to school for psychology but was unsure whether that was what I wanted to continue to do so I chose to take time off and figure out what I wanted to do before choosing a major. I do have a medical condition called Pulmonary Hypertension that has caused some minor heart failure. My condition is controlled with oral medication and I am physically well and able to keep up with others my age when it comes to most physical activities. I enjoy learning and am willing to try new things. I would enjoy learning a new language and am more than willing to take the time to learn a new language. I myself am not religious but I am curious about different religions and am willing to work with people and cultures with whom religion is an important part.
Volunteering Experience:
I participated in 4-H for years, from the ages of six to eighteen, during which I volunteered working in a community garden with the other members of my group. We were in charge of maintaining a garden at the fairgrounds for years. This included weeding, watering, and replacing plants. I also spent a lot of time working with the younger members of the group, helping them learn the ways of showing dogs and helping them to train their dogs.
Education:
I have an Associates Degree from Grays Harbor Community College.
Occupation:
Micropropagation at Briggs Plant Nursery
Other Skills:
I am well organized and flexible.
