Bio:
I am a 20 year old ex-university student seeking to make a positive impact on people and communities wherever I can find the opportunity, while also travelling the world and gaining a broader understanding of the human experience from unique perspectives. Having lived in the youth hostel / care system myself in the UK, I have first hand insight to the importance of charity and providing for those in need. My overarching life goal is to learn as many languages and walks of life as possible, and I hope to achieve this through spreading positivity and absorbing wisdom as far across the globe as possible. My current interests are: Art (paintings, architecture, storytelling) Music (cultural and commercial) Sports (football, boxing, chess, snooker) Sociology (Eastern vs Western, 1st and 3rd world cultures) Philosophy (Hindu & Zen Buddhism, Transcendentalism, Solipsism etc) Theology (Deism, African Spiritualism, Islam) My dream career is either in the field of youth work or linguistics teaching; I strive to achieve my goals through cultural immersion and humanitarian outreach projects.
Volunteering Experience:
I currently do not have much volunteering experience but am excited to start. I am seeking long term projects ranging from a couple months to a year or even two, and I am keeping an open mind as to which type of volunteering I'd like to do. (anything from cultural immersion to community outreach to disaster relief efforts) Money is currently something of an issue however, and I would need to find either a sponsored trip or one which allows me to earn money while I am volunteering in order to pay back the cost of the project.
Education:
A-B GCSE's in Maths English Science German Art, A-level qualifications in English, German, Politics
Occupation:
Unemployed (recently left university degree)
Other Skills:
Strong communication and listening skills, leadership, quick learner, open minded and postivie
