Bio:
I have been involved in organising many fundraising events, however, I've never directly worked with those in need and seen first hand how the money helps. I am currently finishing my Marketing degree and think that this summer would be the ideal time to visit a new country and provide help for a worthwhile cause. My main passion would be to work in orphanages and help the children in any way that I could. My friends would describe me as enthusiastic, friendly and loyal. I am incredibly sociable and enjoying being thrown into new environments. I am eager to volunteer abroad, because I know that this would be a once in a lifetime opportunity and would provide a unique experience. I am keen to travel and explore Asia and volunteering whilst seeing a new country, would provide many additional memories than a typical travelling trip. Whilst watching clips of children across the world that are without any family members or have been abandoned, I always feel that I could provide so much help and love to those children and hopefully add some extra happiness into their lives.
Volunteering Experience:
During second year in my degree, I was highly involved in organising fundraising events as part of RAG (Raise and Give) and as the Chairperson of the Marketing Society. In total, I raised £10,000 from a Dodgeball Tournament, Bun Sale, Dance-a-thon, Speed Dating Night, Film Screening, Bucket Collections and other smaller events I had organised. The money raised was for numerous charities such as Barnardo's, Simon Community Project, Clic Sargent and Children in Need. Along with organising fundraising events, I have also volunteered with Riding for the Disabled, a UK charity that helps provide therapy and fun for the disabled via horse riding and I have taught children map reading for completing the Duke of Edinburgh Award. I am currently seeking volunteering experience within an orphanage or an non-profit organisation that helps local families. Ideally, I would like to help in the first few weeks of July.
