Bio:
My name is Cassandra (Cassie) Wood. I am a 21 year old from a small beach town Sandwich, Massachusetts. I grew up loving the ocean and being extremely active. When I was 18 I decided to move to Pittsburgh to begin my college career. I am going into my senior year at Duquesne University as a Health Sciences major. I am also pursuing a minor in African Studies. Duquesne opened my eyes to many new wonderful opportunities. I was able to study abroad in Dublin, Ireland in 2014 where I traveled to 10 different countries and fell in love with Europe, living out of a backpack, & meeting new people. I couldn't stay away and ended up returning for a solo trip through Hungary and Austria later on that same year. Ever since I was in high school I dreamed of joining the Peace Corps one day and I plan on starting my application once I graduate in 2016. During my last year of college I want to embrace every opportunity I can take by exploring, traveling, and hopefully making some impact on my city!
Volunteering Experience:

At Duquesne we run clothing drives, shoeless days, funding events, etc. to promote the organizations message. 3. Leukemia & Lymphoma Society- Youth in Action Intern/Pineapple 5k Presently. Each fundraising event takes about a year to plan. 4. Camp Consular- Ridge Club: Sandwich MA 2011-2014 I was in charge of the summer camp program. Kids aged 5-12 spent each week in tennis, golf, swimming activities. I was in charge of activities, allergy lists, first aid, etc. I really enjoy working for youth in development programs or programs that promote women's rights.
