Bio:
My name is Barbara Rodriguez, I am 18 years old. I go to tarrant county college full time working on getting my associate of arts degree in order to transfer to Sam Houston State University in 2017 or earlier and finish a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science with a minor in wildlife ecology. I also work 30 hours a week at a breakfast and lunch cafe' called Yogis deli and grill. I was born in Santa Barbara, California but I live with my parents and sister in Fort Worth, Texas, U.S. and have been raised there all of my life. My hobbies include playing tennis and soccer, hiking at the trails in my area, reading, and intermingling with my pets. I am a fun loving, adventure seeking, easy to get along with animal lover and am ready for my first volunteer abroad experience.
Volunteering Experience:
The only volunteering experience I have had so far is at my communities after school program for elementary kids. It just so happened to be right across the street from my former high school and I would sometimes go after soccer practice and help the kids with their homework. I am currently seeking environmental/conservation volunteer programs because of my natural desire of bettering the lives of all animals and especially doing my part in conservation efforts of endangered species. It is the only thing I can imagine myself doing for a living so I am also seeking these programs to gain experience.
Education:
High school diploma, currently a full-time college student.
Occupation:
Cashier at Cafe'
Other Skills:
I am very patient and tolerant. I work well in teams and am always willing to learn.
