Alejandra Farinas is a college student who is working towards becoming a physical Therapist for special needs kids. She was born and raised in a traditional household in Miami, Florida. Since her mother is from South America, she only spoke Spanish at home, for that reason; Alejandra has the advantage to be fluent in English and Spanish. In high school, Alejandra’s activities were many. Among others, she volunteered in a group called, Teens up Against Cancer. Outside of the school she also participated in different sports and cultural activities. Alejandra has made it a point to strive for her goals, which are nothing less than being able to help and to give back to people less fortunate than she is. She enjoys spending time helping specially children; she worked in a school for special needs kids as a teacher’s aide and found, that she has the ability to make these beautiful kids to listen and learn. Ever since she could remember, she has been a person who gets pleasure in helping others. It brings happiness into her life. Being able to travel around the world volunteering and experiencing different ways of living, make her feel useful to the society and specially thankful for what she has. In her spare time, Alejandra enjoys expending time with her family and friends. She also loves to ride horses and all kind of sports.
Volunteering Experience: 
I have volunteered with kids with Cancer. Our group was called, Teens Team up Against Cancer. Also, I have experience with special need kids. I worked in a school for them as a teacher’s aide. I have also volunteered with kibbutz in Israel, one of the most rewarding experiences I have had in my live. I had to grow food, help children and anything else I was able to help in.
