Bio:
I am an Australian expatriate who has lived in Indonesia for 35 years. During that time I worked almost without interruption in the oil and gas sector, specifically seismic exploration throughout Indonesia. With the current downturn in the oil business I have found myself unemployed for the first time in my life which, in a way, is good as I get a bit of a break. But sitting at home doing nothing has lost some of its appeal and it occurred to me to look for some sort of volunteer work to make myself useful until the oil business turns around – which could be a while. I have many skills which I could bring along such as organizational (seismic crews involve up to 2,000 men working in remote locations), administrative, dealing with government officials, fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, computer literate (including GIS software) and much more. I do not expect any remuneration. Any assistance in following up on leads for volunteer work either in Jakarta (Preferably) or regional Indonesia are greatly appreciated. If you think it would help, I can provide my CV and references.
Volunteering Experience:
None to date but looking to spend my time in a useful manner.
Education:
Bachelor of Surveying, University of NSW, Sydney Australia
Occupation:
Operations Geophysicist
Other Skills:
organizational, administrative, local government interaction, budgeting
