Our key areas of work are: Prevention at the community-level (community education, mobilization, awareness raising, etc.) and Training and Capacity Building. Our Main Objective is to lead the fight against HIV/AIDS and address human rights.
Specific objectives: To provide member organizations with relevant information about and access to resources on violence prevention; To build solidarity between organizations working on violence; To strengthen capacity of members on critical issues and methodologies; and, To advocate for increased interest and investment for gender-based violence prevention in the region
Strategies/Activities to prevent GBV: Educate the communities; Raise awareness within communities; Collaboration with other organizations and disciplines on preventing and/or addressing GBV
Key Lessons:
GBV should be addressed from family level to international levels; To have policies and commitment of the government and other stake holders on GBV; GBV should be addressed demographically
