When you contact an Organization, Volunteer or Ambassador:

When you respond:

Write a message. Take the opportunity to show the Organization, Volunteer or Ambassador that you have read their profile, also that you are genuinely interested in speaking with them. You do not need to send your resume, but it is a good idea to let the Organization, Volunteer or Ambassador know about any relevant past experience.

Be personal. We do recommend you send requests to more than one Organization, but that doesn’t mean they should all say the same things! Copy/paste requests don’t tell an Organization what you like about them and who you really are. There are a lot of ways to personalize a request, but the first one is to read the Organization profile thoroughly.

Be polite. Even if an Organization isn’t able to host you, you should still send a thank you note - you're mother will be proud. Plus, you never know what opportunities might come from it.

Request to Volunteer

Once you have found the ‘right’ Organization, you should contact them and request to Volunteer!

After you contact an Organization, the Organization is able to send you a Volunteering Request. This Volunteering Request includes the arrival and departure dates, the cost and what the cost includes.

You will make two payments.

The first payment is the Volunteer Deposit, which is 10% of the total cost and is due within 7 days or the Volunteering Request will be deleted. The Volunteer Deposit is to secure the booking.

Both payments are made to Volunteer Alliance, and Volunteer Alliance does not transfer the money to your Organization until 7 days after the Volunteer arrives at your Organization, so you know your money is safe.

Once your Volunteering Request is finalized, its time to start organising your Flights, Insurance, and Vaccinations!
