Organization Description
We work in Ghana to provide impoverished, orphaned and street children with Health Care and Education.

We need volunteers to help with teaching in one of our partner schools (any subject of your preferred choice), helping in local hospitals (i.e. during child delivery in the Maternity Unit), holding HIV/Aids awareness talks etc. These are only a few examples of the things you could be doing here in Ghana and we are willing to accommodate you with any skills you may have. If you have an idea in which area you would like to volunteer you can also let us know and we will see if such an opportunity is available.

Our Mission
TANF supports the neediest people within Ghana, by providing them with an education and access to health care. We believe this is an investment into a brighter future for our country.

Our Vision
We would like to see a country with an educated and healthy generation, finding their own solutions for breaking free from the cycle of poverty.

Volunteer work
Teaching in one of our partner schools (any subject of your preferred choice), And we are also willing to accommodate you with any skills you may have. If you have an idea in which area you would like to volunteer you can also let us know and we will see if such an opportunity is available.

This will surely present you with an asset on your CV and we are also willing to write a report for you and your future employers after your placement if necessary.

In addition, you will have time to explore this beautiful country and learn about its culture and language (while spending a lot less money than the normal tourist).

In a host family, you will be assigned to your own bedroom with a lock, flush toilets and bath in most of the towns. In the rural areas, you will have to manage with a pit toilet & bath. You will not always have running water but there will be clean washing water to bath and shower in. A mosquito net can be quite helpful. You will be living in a host family house and become a member of that family, which gives you the opportunity to learn their culture, learn a new language, and virtually do everything with them. Host families are carefully selected and are very caring and friendly.

If you are living in the volunteer house, you will be sharing a room with other volunteers. The volunteer house often has up to ten volunteers, so it can be quite fun as you get to know your roommates. The house has showers and flush toilets. You can also let us know the type of accommodation you prefer and we will help you get it if you send us advance notice.

TANF GHANA Average Ratings
I've been volunteer for one month and it was a amazing experience !! People are so nice and friendly, i felt very comfortable and safe in Ghana. There is a lot of work to do in teaching, cleaning but i probably learnt more than i taught! The kids really deserve to have an access to health and education. But also I loved the fact that TANF is fighting for women empowerment. I recommand TANF because they have a lot of wonderful projects to do and they need help to reach their goal. I thank Rev. Laud for beeing so nice with us everytime!
Volunteering with this Foundation can only be described as a gate-opener to numerous new experiences and as an effective was of getting to know unknown facets of humanity. I came to Ghana looking for a way to help teachers who struggle with their professional environment, e.g. coping with an excessive number of students (sometimes ranging up to 90 pupils) or being forced to improvise on teaching methods due to a lack of teaching material. I had the chance to do exactly that. One other primary reason I embarked on this journey was supporting a project that aims at rescuing children from seemingly hopeless circumstances. Many children in most of Ghana’s regions don’t have the possibility to go to school or get appropriate healthcare due to a lack in budget, means or understanding of their...
