PROGRAM COSTS OF YOUR PLACEMENT:
There are two different prices both for volunteering and internship placement and also depends on short stay (Min 2 weeks to Max 4 weeks) and longer (above 5 weeks) stay. The short stay is a fixed cost ( $ 780 USD a month) and there is no change as you see bellow at # 1 and longer stay is based on weekly as you see at # 2.

WHY TO PAY FOR ONE MONTH, WHEN WE STAY FOR LESS THAN 2 OR 3 OR 4 WEEKS ON THE PROJECT?

Like any other community based organization, like us, we do not have our own infrastructure to provide your food and accommodation and also the project location varies from place to place and the projects you apply. So we hire and place volunteers with host families and shared a guest house according to the projects and locations. The fee we have to pay not on a weekly basis, but on a monthly basis to get their service while you are with us. So, if you stay less than a month, we had to pay one month rent of the cost. It's not a hotel, where we pay as long as we stay and the hotel is not the ideal thing to recommend you, because it's very expensive for volunteers. This is why we encourage volunteers to stay at least for one month and make use of your stay and the fee very effective that you pay.

# 1: SHORT STAY PROGRAM COSTS: The short stay program (min 2 to 4 weeks) fee is a fixed deposit for all participants in all the projects. If you are staying for less than 4 weeks or 2 weeks or 3 weeks you must select 4 weeks when you ready to apply and pay a fixed deposit of $ 780 USD.

# 2: LONGER STAY PROGRAM COSTS: If you stay with us more than 5 weeks , your fee starts on weekly basis. Therefore, you need to select how long or how many weeks or months, you like to stay with us and pay the total value or the deposit that you see when you confirm your volunteering and internship placement with us.

NOTE: Your program cost and the deposits of 10% to Volunteer Alliance included in your fee. You do not have to pay extra to anyone.

I came from the UK and volunteered with Kenosis Foundation for 1 month in Bangalore, India. I taught computer and life skills to disadvantaged young adults aged 18-25 years old. This included the basics of hardware, software, typing, Microsoft Office, security, and the internet. I also taught the students how to prepare their CV, and how to perform well in an interview. When I first arrived at the centre, there were some technical issues with three of the computers, but I was able to resolve these within the first day. I enjoyed teaching the students, and they were all keen to learn during my lessons. This made delivering the content enjoyable. My biggest issue that I faced was the language barrier between me and some of the students. This meant I had to remember to speak more slowly...

I had an fantastic time with Kenosis Foundation in South India. It was very interesting and every day was something special. I met a lot of amazing people; for an example all the kind-hearted women in the women groups and all the sweet children in the village and in the schools. I stayed at a Father's house, and I felt very welcomed. A got a nice place to sleep and the greatest food I have ever tasted. I learned a lot and I had a very good time with Issac R, who guided us around (for an example on his motor bike). He took us to many beautiful places. He is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. I hope to come back one day!
