Organization Description
ETIV do Brasil stands for Education through International Volunteering in Brazil. We are located in beautiful Itacaré, on the coast of Bahia, Brazil - where the rain-forest meets the Atlantic Ocean and beautiful beaches, coconut trees, waterfalls and wildlife abound.

Our Mission:
Connecting international volunteers with local communities to support environmental conservation and development in Brazil.

ETIV offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities and positions as well as affordable housing and cultural education classes such as Portuguese and Capoeira. All of the profits gained from these packages go directly to support the NGO, our local community projects and the local economy. For those on a tighter budget, we also offer the opportunity to "just volunteer", without all the additional classes.

Our community projects are mainly focused on youth development and environmental conservation, although we do plan to get more involved in women's empowerment work as well. Volunteers have the opportunity to support our local community projects and/or they can support the NGO by taking one of our many office positions. More experienced volunteers can even manage a project as a Project Coordinator; meaning that they will be taking the lead on that project while supervising other volunteers and networking in the local community. By participating in Eco-tours and cultural education, volunteers will also be helping to support local businesses and boost economic development here in Brazil.

Here is a list of our current vacancies with brief descriptions of what each role entails:

Environmental Coordinator or Environmental Volunteers - Help identify ways to promote and ensure increased and sustainable environmental conservation in and around Itacaré, Brazil. Including: a mangrove restoration project, a neighborhood cleanup and recycling campaign and an educational campaign for children to learn the importance of caring for the environment and to become the environmental leaders of the future.

Marketing and Communications Volunteer/Intern - Take the lead on marketing our organization and volunteer opportunities on a variety of social media sites. Help to manage, improve and update our website. Provide support with creating a newsletter and the initial framework for the written and descriptive portion of our annual report.

Volunteer Coordinator **Free Housing and Position - Assist with the recruitment and management of new volunteers and help to support volunteers from the moment they arrive to the time the leave ETIV. This includes welcoming them upon arrival, leading the biking orientation tours, organizing volunteer lunches and recreational activities, helping with fundraisers and supervising projects to ensure the work carried out is as beneficial as possible to volunteers and beneficiaries.

English Teacher - Organize, market and teach English classes to children. Plan and teach some fun and engaging classes, and network and engage with the local community to ensure a decent turnout.

Youth Development Coordinator or Volunteer - Identify ways to engage local children in fun and creative activities while also teaching them many of the core values that lay the foundation for ETIV's work. This includes: mutual respect, cultural appreciation, caring for each other, speaking the truth, acting honestly and transparently, sharing and being generous and actively caring for the environment and all sentient beings.

Fund Development - Help to diversify our funding sources through a variety of methods. Including: planning and organizing local and online fundraising events, researching and applying for grants, and helping us to find private and business donors; perhaps by implementing a membership scheme or donation drive.

Office Volunteer/Intern - Learn about administration and how to market, recruit and manage a volunteer lead NGO in a developing nation. Help us manage our e-mails and correspondences with other prospective or incoming volunteers and supporting our marketing, communications and recruitment work. Feel free to branch out into the other projects outside office hours! (For volunteers: Monday - Friday, 9am - 1pm)
