Community Based Organization

Organization Location:
ETIV do Brasil
  • Itacaré, Brazil
English, Portuguese, Spanish
Organization Description
ETIV do Brasil is located in beautiful Itacaré, on the coast of Bahia, Brazil - where the rain-forest meets the Atlantic Ocean and beautiful beaches, coconut trees, waterfalls and wildlife abound.

Our Mission:
Connecting international volunteers with local communities to support environmental conservation and development in Brazil.

ETIV offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities and positions as well as volunteer packages that include affordable housing, stunning Eco-adventure tours, and cultural education classes (including Portuguese, Samba and Capoeira). All of the profits gained from these packages go directly to support the NGO, our local community projects and the local economy. For those on a tighter budget, we also offer the opportunity to "just volunteer", without all the additional classes and tours.

Our community projects are mainly focused on youth development and environmental conservation, although we do plan to get more involved in women's empowerment work as well. Volunteers have the opportunity to support our local community projects and/or they can support the NGO by taking one of our many office positions. More experienced volunteers can even manage a project as a Project Coordinator; meaning that they will be taking the lead on that project while supervising other volunteers and networking in the local community. By participating in Eco-tours and cultural education, volunteers will also be helping to support local businesses and boost economic development here in Brazil.

Here is a list of our current vacancies with brief descriptions of what each role entails:
