Organization Description
Our Foundation is a private Non profit Non government Organization, near Kampala, Uganda in East Africa. We helping orphans and vulnerable children by education, feeding, healthcare and various other projects. We aim at reaching marginalized children and youths such as orphans, school drop outs and members of very poor families. Today we bring together over 180 children from the outskirt villages of Kampala to provide them with the basics of life; education, shelter, food, clothing and health care. Our orphanage home is set up as a nurturing family environment, where our children are engaged in crop growing, gardening and cooking.

You can make a tremendous difference in empowering the lives of under privileged children and youths by employing your time, skills and talents as a volunteer. Our volunteer program includes teaching nursery & primary classes, assisting children with their daily tasks, administration support, fund raising, writing and other activities of your interest. We offer our volunteers comfortable accommodation and tasty local food, along with assistance and introduction to the local culture.

For more information, please send us a message. Our children welcome volunteers with genuine smiles and they are eager to meet you!

Food and accommodation:

All meals provided
Accommodation provided
Vegetarian food can be provided.
Vegan food can be provided.

There are two accommodation options for volunteers:

1. Staying with good reputation local families. Most of the families here rent rooms in bigger one floor houses with closed areas / yards. You will have your separate lockable room with private entrance, power, bed, mosquito net. You will share a yard and bathrooms with other families. People and their children here spend much time in the yards – they play, chat, joke, cook, and do domestic tasks. It is especially cozy at the evenings – burning charcoal stoves in front of every door, women busy preparing food, tempting smells of tasteful homemade dishes… This is a good way to experience real African living, to know locals better, learn our different languages, and make lifelong friendship.

2. Self-contained room in tidy guest house. Here you will have bed with mosquito net, power and private bathroom with running water. This option is more expensive than the first one, so we would appreciate your partly contribution of covering additional expenses.

Looking for help with:

Do you want to share your heart and time with us? We have many different volunteer opportunities listed below:

Teacher training

Our teachers are qualified and devoted to their work, but still in need of new, more effective, up-to-date teaching techniques and materials, as well as support, encouragement and renewal. We have nursery and primary classes here. So if you have qualities and abilities of teaching young children and training stuff, your help would be highly useful.

Teaching / Assisting in the classrooms

Kids are young and very active, so usually it is not easy for one teacher to manage all class of more than 50 children. We usually learn songs, good health habits, and educational games in nursery classes. For primary classes - we teach reading, writing, counting, health care, science. Your willingness and/or abilities are very welcome to help us at the classrooms.

Healthcare training

We want to educate and support our community by various healthcare programs: awareness of HIV / AIDS, dealing with stigmas, sexual behavior education (abstinence from sex until full age; faithfulness – no cheating; protection means). Training and upgrading our nurses would be very useful too.
