Organization Description
BOFWA was founded in 1988, [Registration No. CR 1043] through a workshop sponsored by World Bank and implemented by the GoB, the Ministry of Health (MoH) with technical assistance from the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). The later registered BOFWA, as its affiliate in 1989 and a full member in 1995. The Association is further affiliated to BOCONGO as an annual subscriber and signatory to the Members Code of Conduct and BONASO as a subscriber and beneficiary to technical assistance from BNYC and BOCCIM.

BOFWA is a not-for-profit Non Governmental Organization (NGO) that pioneered the promotion of youth friendly SRH information and services in Botswana. It is a volunteer driven organization. Its ultimate goal is to meet the SRH needs of young people and their families. BOFWA evolved over the years, having started her programmes focusing mainly on family life education, services and advocacy; and now embracing the broader SRH agenda. Currently BOFWA has five Branches in: Kanye, Mochudi, Gaborone, Kasane and Maun.
